2008-2009 Season

In Remembrance. This concert will focus on works that remember our loved ones who have passed on. We remember all saints and all souls that have gone on before us; we remember the Veterans that served our country, especially those that gave their lives for freedom, and we remember the founders of this country as we celebrate with thanksgiving.

Several works will be performed and then the Chamber Singers will be joined by the Stillwater Chamber Players as they present Requiem composed by John Rutter.

2007-2008 Season

Basically British Concert This concert will feature Professor John Seesholtz, Baritone, a member of the Oklahoma State University Voice Department. He will be performing Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs, as well a song set by contemporary composer Thomas Rinn. Other works the Chamber Singers will be performing include Sing Joyfully - William Byrd, Morris Dance - arranged by Charles Stanford and Quick we have but a Second - arranged by John Rutter. Lenten and Easter Music of the Renaissance and Baroque era Singing with the Stillwater Chamber Players, Laura Talbott director, featuring Cynthia Cortright playing continuo, Stillwater Chamber Singers will perform Lenten and Easter Music. This exciting program will include Gregorian Chant, two renaissance works, the Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Buxtehude's Cantata Der H err ist mit mir and a portion of J.S. Bach's Motet # 6. This 70 minute concert is free and open to the public due in part to a generous grant from the Albert and Esther Epstein Concert Series Fund. Poster (jpg)

Oklahoma at 100. The Stillwater Choral Community celebrates "Oklahoma at 100". A gala concert with operatic soprano Leona Mitchell, featuring The Stillwater Honor Choir, Stillwater Junior High School Choir, Stillwater High School Pioneer Chorale, and the Stillwater Chamber Singers. This is a great way to celebrate the Centennial of this great state.! All music is composed by Oklahoma Composers, and performed by Oklahoma singers and instrumentalist from ages 7 to 70.

In this month of November we remember all saints and all souls that have gone on before us (November 1 and 2), we remember the Veterans that served our country, especially those that gave their lives for freedom, and we remember the founders of this country as we celebrate with thanksgiving.

Works include Eleanor Daley's In Remembrance, And I saw a new heaven composed by Bainton, Norman Dello Joio's Come to me my love, Kyrie from Memorial written by Clausen. During the second half of the concert the Chamber Singers will be joined by the Chamber Players as they present Requiem composed by Gabriel Faure.
